Why We Exist

Two Gaps. One Bridge.

Every Tlokwa project sits between two real problems. University students preparing for careers in technology and business struggle to gain the industry experience employers ask for, even at entry level, and NSFAS funding, while it covers tuition, often doesn't stretch to daily costs. At the same time, South Africa's tourism businesses, the tour operators, guides, and shuttle services that welcome visitors every day, often can't afford large digital agencies, even though they need a professional website and brand to compete. Tlokwa exists in the space between these two problems, and every project we take on addresses both at once.
The Student Problem
Companies ask for experience even for junior roles, making it hard for graduates to break in. NSFAS funding often doesn't cover food, transport, data, or learning resources, so students need real income as much as real experience.
The Tourism Affordability Problem
Tour operators, tourist guides, shuttle services, township tour businesses, adventure tourism companies, guest houses, and cultural experience providers all need a professional digital foundation, but large agencies price them out.

Our Approach

How Tlokwa Bridges the Gap

Real Client Projects
Students work on live tourism business projects, not simulations: real deadlines, real clients, real accountability.
Portfolio & Income
Every project becomes paid work and a portfolio piece students can carry into internships and graduate roles.
Affordable Professional Delivery
Tourism businesses get quality digital work at prices that make sense for a growing operation.
The NSFAS Reality

Funding Tuition Isn't Funding Life

NSFAS covers tuition and, for many students, a housing allowance, but it doesn't stretch to cover everything a student needs day to day. Income from Tlokwa client projects helps close that gap, while giving students real industry experience at the same time.
  • Food and daily living costs
  • Transport to campus and client meetings
  • Data and internet access for coursework and client work
  • Learning resources and equipment
